Just some thoughts...

This past General Conference was the first conference that me and the hubs actually have sat down and wanted to watch! We've been rebels thus far, what can i say. But President Monson's talk.. Finding Joy in the Journey.. touched me so! By the end of his talk, i had tear filled eyes...

"This is our one and only chance at mortal life—here and now. The longer we live, the greater is our realization that it is brief. Opportunities come, and then they are gone. I believe that among the greatest lessons we are to learn in this short sojourn upon the earth are lessons that help us distinguish between what is important and what is not. I plead with you not to let those most important things pass you by as you plan for that illusive and non-existent future when you will have time to do all that you want to do. Instead, find joy in the journey—now..."
I can't even begin to tell you how much i agree with this. I remember hearing the following quote and immediately feeling like he was speaking directly to me...
Send that note to the friend you’ve been neglecting; give your child a hug; give your parents a hug; say “I love you” more; always express your thanks. Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved. Friends move away, children grow up, loved ones pass on. It’s so easy to take others for granted, until that day when they’re gone from our lives and we are left with feelings of “what if” and “if only.” Said author Harriet Beecher Stowe, “The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone.”
Even now reading it on here makes me tear up! I just really honestly always think these things. I always try to realize that there may be no tomorrow, but after this talk.. I really want to try harder. I know there are people in my life i don't visit as often.. or show my love for as often as i should. I'm so grateful I was able to hear this talk and that it had such an impact on me! I will definitely try to Find Joy in the Journey.. i KNOW that that is so very important.

I also really enjoyed President Monson's message! After I heard it I couldn't help but be amazed at how his words had the ability to touch every person that heard them. It was just what I needed to hear!

Yeah, me too.
It was awesome!
I also loved Elder Bednar's talk about prayer. Especially how he described what a blessing morning prayer can be to our days.

Thanks for the tree! I'm super excited.
