If U know anything about taking pictures and/or editing.. PLEASE READ.

Does anybody know how I can achieve very contrasting black and white pictures? All i have now is Photoshop elements and i don't even know how to turn my picture into a black and white picture haha. So i can change it in Picasa.. But it all looks very blah and Grey. How can I make the black parts really black and the white very white and not just a blah grey-ish picture??
Thanks :)

Elements drove me insane so now I use CS2. I think if you google photoshop actions you can come up with a lot of options. Actions are what I use for most my stuff. It really is a learning process. Good luck. I am sure I was no help!

I don't have elements, but on cs4 it has a brightness/contrast option and so after I turn it black and white (go to image, adjustments, b&w) then I go to image, adjustments, bright/contrast, then click legacy and bump it all up... I don't know if yours will work that way but maybe it will help?
