This year I was asked to play my ol' trumpet in the stake christmas festival. I was really super nervous, but it turned out well. Nobody really cares about the orchestra anyway, its all about the choir. And it should be. We practiced alot. I mean, maybe 2 or 3 hours every saturday for several weeks. And every single time the men sang Silent Night, it was like hearing it for the first time. Heavenly. I sat right next to the men singers and my goodness the spirit their voices brought was incredible. Beautiful! Something I dare say i'll never forget. I love how music this time of year can move you so. One of my very favorite christmas songs is Do You Hear What I Hear. The last verse of the song chokes me up Every single time. "A Child, a Child sleeping in the night, He will bring us goodness and light. He will bring us goodness and light." December is my favorite month in sacrament because we sing christmas songs. Today i could hear myself singing too loudly to Oh Come All Ye Faithful, but darn it I just couldn't help it! I love this time of year. :)

Last night I sang my heart/lungs out to Martina McBride's Oh Holy Night... I was sure to have the house speakers on FULL Blast so I could not hear myself, snicker. As for my family? For their tender ears, I pray Martina was all they heard.
I was wondering how the choir/orchestra could carry on without bursting into tears. You all did an amazing job!
I absolutely care about the orchestra!! As do hundreds of others! There was no orchestra when the festival first began, so believe me when I tell you how much a live orchestra adds!!!
It was BEAUTIFUL...every single time.
You were awesome! I think the orchestra is incredible. How neat to be apart of it!
