So last night me and Dusty wanted to go on a date. We called PF Changs but their earliest reservation was for 8:30... WAY too late for us. So we just decided to go down there and put our name on the list and see how long it would be.... 45min-1 hour. So we just walked around Bridge Street while we were waiting. First store we went to was Le Gourmet Chef. We walked around for a while in there, when all of a sudden i look down, and i see Deacon's blanket falling out the bottom of his stroller. WAIT A SECOND!! Thats Deacon's blanket ALONG WITH DEACON! Poor baby. We forgot to buckle him into his stroller, so out he slid onto his knees, then onto his face. In the middle of the aisle. About a foot from some lady looking at kitchen bowls. I gasped super loud and Dusty ran to pick up our poor crying baby off the floor. Everyone was like "Is he ok!?" "That must have startled him!!" He even had a red lip afterwards. We pretty much felt like the biggest schmucks on earth, so we quickly made our way out of that store to start fresh in another store. The rest of our browsing went nicely. We had to wait a little over an hour, but finally got in. By this time it was way past Deacons bedtime. We ordered our food and it was delicious! Dusty normally doesn't like Chinese food so I was surprised he liked it. Deacon happily ate white rice and flirted with the people at the table next to us. After dinner, we decided to run quickly up to Great American Cookie and get a slice of cookie cake with only WHITE icing (the best). On our way, we ran into my old boss at Adams Homes/Breland Homes Barbara Breland. We stopped to say hi and she wanted to see the baby, so she is talking to him really sweet and thats when Deacon stuck his bottom lip out at her and turned his face into Daddy's shoulder and CRIED like he was TERRIFIED of her! Em.Barr.As.Sing. On we went to get our cookie and snatched up the LAST slice with all white icing and headed home. Deacon went to bed pretty quickly and me and Dusty stayed up a little while longer watching How I Met Your Mother (loooove that show). It was a really great date night!!!

Try not to feel too bad about it. We've all done something similar. Eden fell off the couch when she was 2 months. I didn't realize she could move enough to make herself fall. Felt like such and idiot.
Glad the night turned out well and you guys had fun!
i didn't know wheather to laugh or cry,,, it sounded like a good date to me,,, good food, some excitement, some tears, some laughter,,, thats whats goin on......:)
That doesn't make you bad parents, it makes you normal! Sometime I'll tell you about how I flipped Alex out of her carseat onto the floor in relief society when she was a baby. Sad day!
Dude Stef that date was "legend... wait for it... dary- legendary!" ha ha, LOVE that show too. Adam and I can't seem to resist it. I recommended it to a friend (who isn't a member of the church) and after watching it sad, "I love the show, but a little suprised you guys watch it." I felt like a lammo mormon. It's a guilty pleasure, ya know? No, but don't feel bad woman! I've dropped all my kids at some point and they are all still totally smart- no damage done. Plus, no adult should take offense to a baby crying at them. I know it seems embarrassing but really, I'm sure she understood. You guys are such great, loving parents!
whoops- I meant she "said" and I felt like a "lame-o mormon." geez can't seem to comment right tonight. :)
