Its stressin me OUT

So i'm officially beyond worried about bringing a baby into my home. Main reason- the 2 furry idiots that reside there now. Heres what concerns me :
GUS:

  1. Gus jumps up on people.
  2. Gus wants to lay on you, ALWAYS.
  3. Gus likes to drag blanket type objects around the house (towels, blankets, socks, shirts..)
  4. If not let out Constantly, Gus will take a #2 right behind my dining room table. Gross.
  5. Gus. does. not. listen.
  6. Has brought a small (dead) snake into our house.

ELLIE:

  1. Ellie rubs her butt on my floors.
  2. Ellie growls and snarls if i try to grab something from her mouth that she doesn't want me to have.
  3. Ellie will eat your food with NO GUILT if you turn your back for a second.
  4. Me and Dusty believe she can't feel pain.. spanking her does NOTHING.
  5. If the front door is open, she will BOLT out the door.
  6. Constantly brings disgusting giant GRUBS into the house.

Oh and both dogs.. make my house stink. i HATE that most of all probably. I never noticed until i've been pregnant, its a distinct DOG smell that just makes me gag. Since their kennel is in my bedroom, It smells like their kennel in there. I just don't know what to do..

So how BABY-FRIENDLY does my house sound!? i need H. E. L. P.

Best I Ever Had

So after my 16 week checkup this week, I went to Jason's Deli to grab a quick sandwich. I've only been once and didn't know what to get so I quickly scanned the menu before ordering. since i'd posted that morning about the baby being the size of an Avocado that day i was REALLY craving avocados. 1 Sandwich caught my eye. Sante Fe Chicken Sandwich with (heres the kicker..) HOMEMADE GUACAMOLE. I ordered it. Ate it. and declared to the office that I'd just consumed possibly the BEST. SANDWICH. KNOWN. TO. MAN. seriously. I'm not being overly dramatic! It even gave me mad HEARTBURN. but you know what? WORTH IT!! You must try this sandwich SOON!!!

It moves!

It's sort of ironic, this post, because i had just commented on my own post yesterday saying I havn't felt the baby move yet. So i'm driving home last night blaring the radio like always when I feel a small rumble in my gut and i think "what was that?". So i sit really still and it does it again! A sort of quivering sensation. I text Dusty "I Think i felt baby move?". And i don't feel it again. Until this morning I'm on my way to work, listening to Dani California, and I feel it again except slightly stronger. Everyone says their first feelings feel like a tickle or tiny 'fluttering' but no, Mine felt distinct. i KNEW it was the baby kicking around in there. So apparently it likes it when i play music in the car a little too loud :) I love it.
In case your wondering, I've voted BOY on my poll. Since i want a boy. haha. i DREAM of having a boy. literally. I have dreams often that I have had a baby boy that I am So SO in love with I can't stand it. Dusty thinks its a girl for sure and has from the start. I'm PLANNING for a boy. The name, the room, the clothing, how i'll spike his hair, everything. So we'll see on the 19th what this little baby is, i can not WAIT to find out!!

Now I want some Guacomole.

Today I am 16 weeks pregnant, and the baby is the size/weight of an AVOCADO. YUM!

"Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming. And, if you're interested, an ultrasound might be able to determine gender. "

I've been humming "I need thee every hour" all morning!

We almost lost her!

So yesterday we had people come to pressure wash our siding and porch areas. It looked great when I pulled in the driveway from work. So i get in the house, let the dogs out of their kennel, and let them out back to do their business. Gus always pees then comes right back in, Ellie likes to sniff every inch of the yard, so she normally stays out a long time. So i'm inspecting the siding, and decide to come inside to eat some dinner. I'm takin my time, eating and watching a movie on t.v... I think it was What Happens In Vegas, i really like that movie. Dusty comes home a little more than an hour after me and i tell him "You might want to go call ellie in, she's been outside for like the past hour and a half.." So Dusty goes outside, and lets gus out with him. I continue to watch my movie. He's outside for a LONG time i think... and i'm getting antsy because i want to ask him to take me to wal mart to buy a new boardgame (haha). So all of a sudden DUSTY calls my cell phone. I answer "What??" .."Umm. I think i know why Ellie hasn't come in yet..the pressure washer people left the back gate open....and Gus just got out too and I can't catch him" Oh NO!!!!! Ellie has been OUT roaming the world for the past hour and a half?!?! I immediately start to panic and go help Dusty catch Gus. Then we hop in the car and start looking for Ellie, crying the entire time. I can't help but think "She has gotten hit by a car...She doesn't even have her collar on... she Could be bit by a snake! (we saw a giant snake in our neighborhood the other day)...She may NEVER. COME. HOME" It was just awful. Dusty circles us around for a good 30 minutes and we decide to check by the house again, Calmly Dusty says "There she is.." And there she was! Standing in the field next to our house. I get out sobbing "ELLIE!" and she whines and runs right to me. What a CLOSE CALL!! We're glad we found her, Dusty said its a sign that we are meant to have 2 dogs right now. Because lately all we can do is complain how they've ruined our house...
Those Workers will DEFINITELY get a complaint letter from me!!!!!!

Sad News

My beloved bedspread could not be saved by the dry cleaners :(. So my dog got the evil eye and I turned it over on its other side which is crisp white still. So all is well I suppose.

A thank you

My sister-in-law/best-friend Jessica stopped by my house to leave me a little gifty..

Isn't that sweet? I've always wanted this Willow Tree :) Thank you so much Jess! Ur kind of The Best.

I thought I'd also include a 14 week belly pic I took a couple days ago.....

Don't mind my comforter-less bed.. I took it to the dry cleaners due to muddy dog prints..

I'm dramatic.

So a little while back I posted about my love for a past Special at Olive Garden. Holy Moly. It was divine. I've craved it ever since. When i went back for my birthday to get it again earlier this year, it was conveniantly JUST taken off the menu. And i died inside. So me and my friend from work, Liz, go to lunch at Olive Garden last week...and upon walking into the building look at the Specials Board and see THE special! FOUR CHEESE STUFFED MEZZALUNA WITH SHRIMP! OH MY GOODNESS!!!! We had a small party right there and anxiously followed the hostess to our table. (they sat us by the bathrooms...which smelled like.. well...the word starts with P. and ends in.. OOP. so we were moved...) Anyway, So our waiter takes FOREVER to get to us, and we excitedly tell her we'd like the Shrimp Mezzaluna Special!! She looks confused like shes never heard of it... "You know, the one on the board up front????" she replies, "Oh, um I don't think that starts until Sunday." IT WAS FRIDAY! give us a BREAK! How cruel is that??? So i got seafood alfredo and felt sick the rest of the day. How awful!! Some people sure know how to ruin a pregnant girls day(life)!!!

The Build Up

Every day that passes I am more and more excited that I am actually carrying a baby in there. Its pretty miraculous. Some things I've been thinking about today are, what kind of books will I read my baby? Will I read a goodnight story every night? Will he/she have a Favorite and remember it throughout their life? My mom read to me and my sister ALOT growing up and we LOVED it. I think of the following books so FONDLY...

basically my favorite book of all time.

My mom did the best voices for this one

I'm not sure i'll be able to ever read this book aloud without crying! But i love it.

My mom also read to me and my sister some more scary books.... these were our favorites...
Come on, just look at the cover of this book. It scared us....

This was our "favorite" story in Der Struwwelpeter.. about a boy who sucked his thumb and was told if he didn't stop the tailor man would cut off his thumbs. So the boy continues... and IN FLYS THE RED'LEGGED MAN! and cuts off the boys thumbs. horrifying.

Sometimes, mom would whip out this book (or one of us would) and she'd start "It was a dark. and stormy night" and scream and cry me and my sister would! But we loved it... UNTIL...

There was a story with a particular picture that TERRIFIED me. to. death. My sister would open the book to the page of the picture and i'd CRY and be DONE with reading....
Scary isn't it? I uploaded it small because..it still scares me. AH!
but ANYWAY, I can't wait to read to my Chillins! :)

14 weeks

Thats right, I'm officially out of the 1st trimester, woohoo! Now that i'm out of that phase, I'm gonna vow to not complain about my pregnancy woes anymore. You say "finally!" but I say "This'll be tough"! My regular jeans officially don't button anymore, not even with brute force. But thats ok :) I got my first "Can i touch your belly" request yesterday and loved it. A sister in YW said "Oh you're really starting to show!" to me and I enjoyed that too. I can't wait for my belly to pop. Some days i think WOW i look really PREGGERS today! Some days, I can barely notice it. Shucks. I'm getting better with taking my vitamin that i so lovingly call "The Devil". I got a new one that doesn't taste like Satan's Poison so I'm good now. I'm ecstatic next month to find out Baby's gender. Then i can REALLY start buying fun things!! I've got my heart set on a stroller with ORANGE in it. I don't know why. I'm still indifferent on Nursery themes. I don't like the idea of a THEME in my baby's room..I'm not really sure why. I'm thinking lots of white. and neutrals. CLEAN. .My dogs are still really bad. I took my beloved white comforter to the dry cleaners where she couldn't "guarantee" they'd get the stain out, but she'd try. I'll know by Thursday if i'll have to kill my dog or not. But I saw Marley and Me last night, So i love them again:). And i could just go on and on about this cool weather. I. love. it. You know, I havn't taken a SINGLE pregnancy picture yet? Except a few little ones on my phone to send to my sister. I'll have to get on that asap and share one..

In other news... I finally bought this pretty necklace i've been wanting! (sh. don't tell my husband)

P.S. the lemon is because according to thebump.com Baby Hess is the size of a LEMON this week! How exciting!

Prophet

I wished I had the talks sitting in front of me right now, so I could quote and give the full effect but this'll have to do! Every year I am so excited to hear from the Prophet. I'm excited to hear what everyone has to say at conference but come on.. Who isn't REALLY excited to hear from the Prophet?? As President Monson stands up to speak, I am glued to the screen listening to his counsel as if my life depends on it. And I am never let down. What beautiful counsel he gives. This years counsel on service for others, touched me so deeply and reminded me throughout the entire talk of a specific loved one. A loved one I have been praying for and asking for opportunities to do service for. It was as if President Monson were speaking directly to me. How wonderful. I love conference. I love the confirmation I get when I watch it, that i Know President Monson is a prophet of God.
