The Night We Felt Like Terrible Parents.

So last night me and Dusty wanted to go on a date. We called PF Changs but their earliest reservation was for 8:30... WAY too late for us. So we just decided to go down there and put our name on the list and see how long it would be.... 45min-1 hour. So we just walked around Bridge Street while we were waiting. First store we went to was Le Gourmet Chef. We walked around for a while in there, when all of a sudden i look down, and i see Deacon's blanket falling out the bottom of his stroller. WAIT A SECOND!! Thats Deacon's blanket ALONG WITH DEACON! Poor baby. We forgot to buckle him into his stroller, so out he slid onto his knees, then onto his face. In the middle of the aisle. About a foot from some lady looking at kitchen bowls. I gasped super loud and Dusty ran to pick up our poor crying baby off the floor.  Everyone was like "Is he ok!?" "That must have startled him!!" He even had a red lip afterwards. We pretty much felt like the biggest schmucks on earth, so we quickly made our way out of that store to start fresh in another store. The rest of our browsing went nicely. We had to wait a little over an hour, but finally got in. By this time it was way past Deacons bedtime. We ordered our food and it was delicious! Dusty normally doesn't like Chinese food so I was surprised he liked it. Deacon happily ate white rice and flirted with the people at the table next to us. After dinner, we decided to run quickly up to Great American Cookie and get a slice of cookie cake with only WHITE icing (the best). On our way, we ran into my old boss at Adams Homes/Breland Homes Barbara Breland. We stopped to say hi and she wanted to see the baby, so she is talking to him really sweet and thats when Deacon stuck his bottom lip out at her and turned his face into Daddy's shoulder and CRIED like he was TERRIFIED of her! Em.Barr.As.Sing. On we went to get our cookie and snatched up the LAST slice with all white icing and headed home. Deacon went to bed pretty quickly and me and Dusty stayed up a little while longer watching How I Met Your Mother (loooove that show). It was a really great date night!!!

Pitchas

My mom has let me know that I need to update my blog. I realize i'm getting bad but I sure love looking back when I have updated frequently so, here I go. Have i even really talked about Christmas? I don't think so. Christmas was awesome. We got so many super GREAT gifts. Dusty did end up getting me that really pretty Swarovski ring (i guess this blog is good for SOMEthing haha) Pretty much I just have a ton of pictures to show of who else but my little dumpling!?
Deacon gets so excited sometimes and its hilarious,
he raises his little wings and shrieks

SUCH a sweetie he is.
This was really funny. He was feeding himself cheerios
and one was stuck so perfectly to his little chin

I snapped a hundred pictures of him sitting so sweet on the bed..

Not realizing the entire time he had a piece of paper in
his mouth until this last shot.

this is just my robe hanging by my tub.
How awesome is that shadow? haha

As i browse my pictures i realize most pictures I
have of Deacon are either in his high chair, or in the tub.

Not much else is new for now.

Makes me Cry

You know, I think alot about Motherhood. I wanted to be a mom for as long as I can remember. I always had baby dolls when i was a little girl. I literally prayed for my baby dolls at night. I remember reciting our prayer and at the end i'd say "God Bless Mommy, Daddy, Jessi, Stefanie, Danielle, Vivian, Mary, and Annie." The last 4 being baby dolls. Growing up my Dream job was a "baby nurse". I pretty much was obsessed with babies. Right before I got married I got this fear of having children though. I didn't want to have any for a while. I was scared that I couldn't handle a difficult child, and then there was this fear that i wouldn't be able to have children. Although I obviously changed my mind, it wasn't a speedy thing, me getting pregnant. I remember the day I found out I was finally pregnant, I dropped to my knees crying, praying to Heavenly Father "Thank you, thank you, thank you" over and over again. Motherhood has been kind to me so far. I've been given such a sweet, delicious baby. How on earth did I deserve such a perfect little angel?? All I know is I sure am blessed. I came across this poem a few years ago on a friends blog and it has stuck with me ever since. It put a knot in my throat then, and it brings a tear to my eye now. I love it....

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs, dust go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.

The Snow.

I really still can't get over the amount of snow we got this year! More than I've seen here my entire life! It was REALLY fun. These pictures are from the smaller snow the day after Christmas. Deacon wasn't sure what to think, he sat in his little walker frozen and wouldn't really smile or...move.

Then the REAL snow came, about 7-8" of snow! We carefully headed to Dusty's parents where we 4-wheeled to this giant dirt mountain covered in snow. It really couldn't have been a better sledding hill. I felt like a little kid again sliding down it on a cookie sheet ha!! Now the snow is getting kind of old. Its still packed up high in my yard and everywhere else, except now its getting icy not just powdery snow. I can't imagine snow being a NORMAL thing for people! Crazy. It snows a couple inches here and everyone goes nuts and school is cancelled for DAYS.

Ridin Dirty

A couple weeks ago after dinner me and Dusty were playing some silly music in the kitchen on the computer and Deacon seemed to like it. So we kept playing different songs to see Deacon's reaction.... I think this gem was his favorite haha!

Sunday

Today is a good day. This year church is at 11 instead of 9, which made for a way more relaxed morning. Dusty wore his new sexy Gap cords to church and I couldn't stop staring at his BOOTY. Deacon had on a pink and grey SUIT at church. Honestly, it was so cute. I finally folded that hamper-full of laundry waiting for me, and the yummiest candle is burning in my kitchen. I love Sunday afternoons.

2011

I haven't even posted my Christmas post yet but Since it is New Years today, I feel the need to recap this year and write down my resolutions. 2010 was one of the BEST years and at times one of the worst. This year my first child was born, honestly, can anything beat that? I don't think so. Around the same time, Dusty became very very ill. That was probably the worst several months of my life up until this point. We've had some rough times this past year, and alot of unbelievably happy times. I love the feeling of a fresh new year. That 'starting over' feeling. I've got so many things I could improve on, what better time than a NEW YEAR? Here are some of my 2011 New Years Resolutions.
  1. Family Prayer and Scripture study EVERY night.
  2. Be more charitable.
  3. Improve Temple attendance
  4. Be slower to anger (I've got one SHORT fuse unfortunately )
  5. Stick to a budget!
  6. Have dinner ready every night.
  7. Have date nights more often.
  8. Start running again.
  9. Fit into all my old pre pregnancy pants (No, i still don't.

p.s. This is my 400th blog post :) yippee!
