Baby Boy

I've been wanting to post the pictures of Baby Boy's ultrasound and wasn't sure how to scan them so here are pictures of the pictures :)

When the technician first got this shot of the baby I think me and Dusty were both still so surprised that there is an actual BABY in there!! And a spine? What!? Crazy , and amazing !

Looks like his hands are up touching by his face in this one, so sweet

Here's the BOY shot that Dusty was just So proud of. He kept saying "Are you SURE its a boy?" uhhh I'm PRETTY sure its a boy, Dusty. haha

Check out how handsome he is already, eh? :)

Aw and a little footy!

The Fear

Man, I havn't posted in a while but its because I have pictures of things i'd like to post, but always forget my camera at work! So in the meantime...
You know what Dusty said to me last night? He said "You know what is REALLY crazy....." I said "what." and he said "We're going to have a *whispers* BABY". Immediately I felt a knot in my throat which i tried to fight back but couldn't and he said "Are you about to cry???". Its the hormones I guess. Recently at church I remember we had a lesson on Missionary Work and bringing people to the Church. This topic intimidates me enough but something that stuck out to me was that the teacher pointed out that The most important of all people you will have to 'convert'.. is your children. I leaned over to the mom I was sitting by and whispered "that responsibility terrifies me." and she replied.. "Me too." What a SCARY thought to me. Being a convert myself, I am absolutely thrilled to bring my children up in the church, because i know it is right. No doubts about it. But what I am scared of, is my lack of knowledge. I don't know a lot of simple principles and forget what easy simple things mean sometimes. I only know a select few B.O.M stories. How am I supposed to teach my children to love the Scriptures when I am not scripturally smart? What if I'm not a good example? When we were sitting in the ultrasound room a few weeks back, and the technician said "Its a Boy" One of the first thoughts I had was "A Missionary." No Pressure or anything, right? :)

Surprise! Its A....

BOY!

One of those days

RANT:

I'm feeling BITTER today. First of all, i was SUPPOSED to be going to find out the sex of Baby today. But i'm not. (I know, silly reason to STILL be worked up over). This morning, not only did I have to bend under my bed to pick up Ellie's poop(!), but as i was face to face with feces, i spotted my brand new, grey Gap flats chewed to peices under my bed, courtesy of Gus-gus. I gasped and cried and mourned the loss. I really loved those flats. So i spanked Gus's Hiney with that flat really hard and he ran away from me. Then i spotted on Ellie's tail a giant red gooey bald spot that she kept licking and biting. GROSS. A vet call is in order. I thought about opening my back gate and 'forgetting' about it for the dogs to discover. But i didn't. The same offensive lady at work came in today and peered over my desk to ask "Are you showing YET!?". I snapped back at her "YES!" and I could tell that she noticed I was annoyed with her question. Then she asked me "Well aren't you going to find out the gender??? because I think its a GIRL". And i just ignored her. Then i felt really rude and decided to blog how bitter I am this morning.

BUT:
After venting to my bestest friend/SIL Jessica, she suggested we have a shopping/girls night tomorrow and watch Twilight to get prepared for seeing New Moon on saturday. My tensed up shoulders lowered a little and I'm feeling better. Today Dusty will get to come to the doctor with me to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. (I've heard it, but he hasn't). I'm wearing a new Maternity shirt today and a cute flower hair clip so at least i LOOK better than i FEEL. I Can feel baby moving around alot this morning, maybe its all of my stress hormones effecting him/her. I have alot of work to do today, so I know it will make my day go by faster, and that is always good. I discovered some very cute baby socks that i Absolutely must have.. I'll share with you..

a Favorite recipe

I'm not sure if this is really considered a 'recipe' since there are only 3 ingredients. But my brother in law, Russell introduced me to this simple side dish (or main dish if you're like me and eat an entire vat of it)....

You just need some tomatoes, i like to use grape tomatoes cut in half...

Then get fresh mozzarella (bocconcini). It'll look like these in the store...

Cut the mozzerella into similar sizes as the tomatoes and dump them in a bowl together. Sprinkle a bit of salt and pepper on them...

Then add this delicious dressing. its called GARLIC EXPRESSIONS. I've seen it at the Fresh Market and Kroger in the refrigerated salad dressing area. It is the BEST EVER. Just douse(sp?) the tomatoes and mozzarella with it until its coated to your liking. And that is IT! So easy! and OH is it ever DELICIOUS!! GO MAKE IT!

*warning*- If husband doesn't eat it with you, he may be averse to kissing you until you brush your teeth! ;)

Most exciting news of the week.

My biggest 'B' bra.. is too tight today.
Hooray!

Patience is a Virtue

... this, I am brutally being taught. Pregnancy is ABSOLUTELY teaching me how IMPATIENT i am and how patient i need to be. As i've excitedly watched my polls "days left" time dwindle down to 2 days, It now has to go back up because my doctors office doesn't have their ultrasound machine in this week. What. Are. The. Odds. Of All weeks to not have the machine, why MY WEEK??? I am beyond disappointed. As soon as the lady called me i had a knot in my throat which immediately turned into crying like a baby. So now the date is moved to December 3rd. Can i make it???

a Big thank you

My in laws are great. Really. Maybe the best around. If you aren't married to a Hess then you should be jealous :). They are so selfless with their time. They have been helping (by 'helping' i mean 'doing') our flooring the past couple of weekends. One of the days being my Mother in Law's birthday, where she spent the greater part of her day putting in our flooring. Can you say 'SAINT'???? A big thank you to my MIL, FIL, and BIL for helping us so much lately ! We sure love yall!

Offended!

I'm not sure what my problem is, but lately I am so easily offended!! I've heard of pregnant women being offended if someone touches their belly and i thought "that'll never be me". (So far belly touches don't bother me at all) BUT, I am having issues with some comments.. let me share..

A woman at work constantly checks my stomach weekly for growth, and when she didn't see much belly one day said
"You don't look pregnant, you look like you've eaten a big lunch though"

How rude?? The same lady continued to say this to me yesterday...
"Oh Stefanie **pinching her cheeks** Your cheeks are starting to get pudgy!! Don't worry, you don't want a SKINNY face, its better to have a CHUBBY face to make you look younger"

No offense, but this woman is heavily overweight, and i thought it INSANE that she say this to me!!

Today while chatting with a lame high school friend he asked how hearing the heartbeat of the baby is.. I said "It is really fun to hear"
He wasn't happy with my response and went on "Fun? Thats a SILLY word to use. I guess I will be much more EMOTIONAL when that time comes for me...But what do I know"
Excuse me? You obviously know NOTHING! Are you implying that I'm not emotional??? How dare you!

Oh and you can't forget the ever popular "You're looking BIG today!" comment, that i'm learning to just say "yep" to.

Was anyone else as offended as me? Or am i just super-hormonal haha.

p.s. to add to my already cranky-butt self.. Dr Nix told me i might have to wait another week for my ultrasound because his equiptment may or may not be in the office in time. : MAN ALIVE i've only been counting down the minutes until next week!!!!!

Getting Ready

Seems I have nothing good to blog about lately. Only pregnancy. Thats all thats new and fun in my life. We are however, slowly getting our house ready for Baby to join us. Starting with new flooring. The idea of having our baby crawling and put its face on our current carpets grosses me out beyond belief, what with having 2 dogs and all. So this past weekend we started putting in our new flooring. I say 'we' But i really mean Dusty, My father in law, mother in law, and Brother in law who spent most of their Saturday helping lay it down. (Thank u guys so much) We've got half of the dining room/living room area done and i am LOVING it so far! I can't wait to get the rest laid. The dogs don't love walking on it yet, and we don't either because their nails are SO LOUD on it. I'm sure we'll get used to it. I'm excited with how much easier it will be to keep clean!! We've got a long list of things that still need to be done but I'm glad we've finally started with the most important!

Seconds?

Something I have come to realize while pregnant: Seconds are NEVER as good. Mainly on the topic of FOOD. The other morning i had quite possibly the yummiest bagel at Brewbakers ever. So of course i figured I'd get one for lunch. Yuck. Not as good the 2nd time around. Same thing happened at Subway, best 6 inch veggie sub ever. Decided to get a foot long veggie sub for dinner... yuck. NOT AS GOOD. That Jason's Deli sandwich i raved about? Yeah. went to get another.. barely ate half of it. When will I learn??
p.s. Baby is an ONION this week.
