NINE

My sweetie is already NINE months?! I think I'm going to say that phrase with every single post about him getting older. "he's ____ months old ALREADY!!??!!". Right now he is flying across the house in his favorite toy- THE WALKER. He B-lines it for the Christmas Tree, book shelves, our fireplace, everything he Shouldn't. Its fun though. Deacon still hates rolling, and only will roll for you if you are tempting him with a straw full of soda. He has started "inch worm" crawling, it's really cute. He mainly startes scooching for the laptop. Daddy brought home from work an old broken one just for Deacon to mess with. The only problem is Deacon rips off all the keys, yikes. Deacon LOVES anything you give him to eat, especially breads. He gets his feelings hurt if you sternly tell him "no, no!" It makes me feel really MEAN, but i was just looking out for him while he yanked my laptop cord!! Deacon wears mostly 18 month clothing, with the exception of SHOES, because the kid has some TINY feet. He is about half an inch away from growing out of his carseat too. Deacon has now THREE teeth, with the 4th VERY close to poking through. Last night I went in for a big smooch, and Deacon opened his mouth and chomped down on my bottom lip. OUCH!!!! It drew blood, that little stinker! Deacon continues to be the best baby ever. He has shy tendency's just like his momma. He is cautious and takes his time with new things.I sure love him so so so much.

five

  1. Today i came to the realization that my house looks BEST with Christmas decorations up. I am not looking forward to December 26th because then my decor won't be as cool and lovely and festive as it is today. :(. I sure love Christmas decor. HMPH!
  2. Do you 'like' Earth Fare on facebook? They have this 12 days of Christmas thing where they gave away 12 coupons for free awesome stuff. My sister was telling me about this seriously negative scrooge lady who always commented mean on the coupons so I went on today and we both commented something mean BACK at her. I felt empowered and GOOD about it. pathetic? I don't care!
  3. Today on facebook, I noticed that Stephanie Nielson (THE nie nie) was 'online'. So i messaged her "I love u, Nienie:)" and she replied, "I love you too". It made my whole week.
  4. My baby has learned the art of strangely army crawling across the floor. Its the kind of crawl that makes you laugh. I love it.
  5. Right now, my living room strangely smells like hard boiled eggs. I didn't make any hard boiled eggs. Thats the grossest thing in the world. ew.

Just call me Mrs. Duggar.

The other morning I was holding a sleepy Deacon, but he was having a hard time falling asleep. I went into my bathroom and stood in front of the mirror. he slowly laid his head down on my shoulder and just stared at me in the mirror, his blinks getting slower and heavier. It was at that moment that I decided, if all my babies could be as perfect as Deacon, I'd have a hundred babies!! I love that baby beyond any amount of love i've ever felt in my life. 100 more babies like Deacon? Yes, Please!! :)

My Hanny

it warms my heart how sweet you are to Deacy like he's your real nephew :)
hannah's wedding day

I've wanted to write a post about my best friend Hannah, but have been putting it off. I've been putting it off because it feels like if I write a sappy post about her, then it really is true that she is moving.. like for REAL. But since she is moving next week, I will dedicate a post to her :) Hannah has been my best friend for over 12 years now. And a constant friend at that, never an off and on type of friendship. Hannah is hilarious, quirky, outgoing, but also sweet, spiritual, and tender hearted and I love her. It's hard for me to believe that the person I grew up living less than 5 minutes away from (minus that short time she lived in Boaz) is going to be over 20 hours away in Texas. My brain literally will not let me think about it long enough for it to sink in still. I suppose it will when she is gone and I can't text her that "it feels like a good night for a Girls Night". I have so many great memories with Hannah, even the fights and bickering, they are still nice haha. Hannah is the person who brought me to church with her as little kids, and that has changed my life forever. How can I say thank you enough for that? I can't. I'm grateful for a friend like Hannah. I'll miss our Girls Night's. I'll miss her crazy personality. I'll miss sitting by her in Sacrament meetings. I'll just miss HER! Our girls nights will just have to turn into girls WEEKENDS spent in Texas with Hannah maybe? :) Farewell, Hanny! I know you will have a great time in Texas and I'm happy for you and Bryce. But i will SURE miss ya!! I love you!
we used to be smokin hot.

Eight

My butterball baby is now 8 months old! Here are his stats:
-Weight- just over 21 pounds.
-is rolling over now!! Believe it!
-Favorite toys- stuffed bear, my cellphone, teething rings, still loves Daddy's coke bottle.
-loves teething cookies and mum-mums.
-gets scared if too many people are talking to him at once.
-still has only 2 nicely grown in teeth.
-has the fattest feet you've ever seen. They are really hard to smoosh into shoes.
-fake coughs and thinks its funny.
This past month Deacon is really starting to show some personality! I'm loving it. He is so sweet. I love him so much sometimes it worries me! Watching Deacon getting 'denied' by kids is not getting easier ha, it is the most heart wrenching thing and I just want to stick my tongue out at the kids and sweep my baby away from them. I think i might be raising a sissy momma's boy!!!
He is so. SO. so sweet and lovable though. I love him so much!!

Routine.

As i was checking my 'Youj" favorite blogs, I flipped to one who posted their daily make-up routine and asked "what is yours?" Of COURSE I had to jump in. I adore make-up. Lovesy lovesy lovesy it! So here it goes...

The first thing I do is dot concealer under my eyes, without this step I look horrid. I use the little version of Benefit's Boi-ing that comes in my eyeshadow kit....
Then i smooth You Rebel lite all over my face. I love this stuff. It's sheer and smells really yummy like sun-tan lotion :)
Then i sweep bronzer over my fore-head, cheeks, nose and chin with a huge fluffy brush..
Then i use either Coralista blush or Sstee Lauder "rose Nuance" blush. The estee lauder one is my all time FAVORITE blush.

Then I cover my eyelid lightly with more concealer as a base to hold my shadow, sweep the lightest shape of the palette below over my entire lid, then the medium shape in the crease, then the darkest in the outer corner/crease. LOVE this shadow set.
Then i dot the white shadow from the pallet below on my brow bone and inner corner of my eyes.
Next I use a slanted liner brush to line my eyes with Clinique black gel liner. I always extend my liner into a cat eye. I only do liner on top, none on bottom.
Lately i've been OUT of mascara, I have so many favorites, my favorite 'cheap' kind is Cover Girl lash blast...
But my sister game me a Dior Blackout sample i've been using.. LOVING IT!
I also really love Lancome Hynose mascara.
And thats that!! I really loooooove make-up.

I'm graaaaateful

With Thanksgiving coming up real soon, I thought I would express my gratitude for all the many blessings I have. I am most grateful for my family. I'm grateful for my husband who works so hard for our family. He is so smart. We can be so different sometimes, and I think what differences we have, work perfectly together to be a perfect match. I'm grateful for my sister, whom i'm with basically every other day if not more! Its funny to think back when we were little how often we'd fight because we are the best of friends now. When I was pregnant, I really wanted a boy, but sometimes would think how cool it would be if i had girls that could be sisters like me and My sister. It is such an awesome bond. I'm grateful for my mom and dad and the fun dinners they throw and how they love Deac. I'm so grateful for my in-laws. I've never met such giving, selfless people in my life. I'm so grateful, for medical mysteries being solved and moving past them. What a horrible while it was when Dusty was sick, I am so beyond grateful for his health now. You have no idea, whew! I'm grateful for Hannah, my best friend of 12 years, she is moving to Texas next month. It hasn't really sunk in to me yet, but once it does, i'm sure it will hit me hard. I love her with all my heart and will always be grateful to her. I'm grateful for our small but really adorable home. I'm grateful for trials and struggles and what they teach, how you come out stronger and wiser. And last but absolutely not least, this holiday season-and Always-I am grateful for my little dumpling, Deacon. My heart is so full with gratitude for him. What a little miracle and blessing he is to me and Dusty. He has been the best baby ever since the day he was born and i often hear from others how 'lucky' we are how good he is. We truly are!! I couldn't be more in love with this little guy, he means the entire world to me.

I just Love it.

I was reading online a review of my favorite book EVER, The Giving Tree. One review stated that some people Love or Hate the book. Intrigued at how someone could ever hate this book i kept reading that some people think the Tree is a "masochistic female who doesn't set limits". Shocking!? Why do I care so much about a children's book anyway? Because it is the best book ever. I feel like it is the most heart-wrenchingly sweet and most realistic sense of a mothers love I have ever read. I cry reading it Every. Single. Time. I love it Deeply! I want to be that Tree for Deacon. The tree's selfless love for the boy is Beautiful and .... Perfect.

Frustration.

I'm feeling SO frustrated this week. Deacon's pediatrician referred him to a pediatric physical therapist to check out why it is he doesn't roll over still and doesn't crawl. I was a bit hesitant to bring him but the Dr was nice and said he has really tight neck and shoulder muscles. She gave me several stretches and exercises to do with him to get him rolling over. Since he is an expert sitter, his homework for the week is to ONLY be placed down on his back or tummy. That doesn't sound like a big deal, but to a baby who never lays down and only sits, is really frustrating for not only Deacon but me as well! I hate to see him unhappy laying on his back, crying for me to pick him up. I know the best thing for him is to let him lay there and work those arm muscles but MAN is it FRUSTRATING!! Going from a SUPER happy baby to be sitting and happily playing, to now forced to lay on his stomach and he just whines and cries all day now, its horrible. I hate it. Since when did Rolling Over become SUCH a big deal?? stupid.

Play

This blog sure has changed. I used to WRITE more. Now i just post a million pictures of my sweet, cuter than cute baby. I guess thats ok :)

Deacon's FAVORITE 'toy' is a coke bottle. We use it the most as a crawl incentive haha. If he sees us drinking anything out of a glass, he reaches for it and opens his mouth. He loves sipping from my cup!

Deacon doesn't really love Tummy Time, but he'll tolerate it nicely for a tiny bit. I think he WANTS to crawl, but hasn't quite figured out how to pull his knees under himself yet. He kicks his arms and legs crazy in the air and gets frustrated that it isn't moving him I think!

He continues to be the sweetest Bestest baby ever.

Babying

Tonight at Activity Days, I brought my sweet chunk of a baby to play. He mostly sat in a chair or on my hip and smiled at everyone. I held him up standing on the floor at one point, where two kids were standing near him. Deacon gazed at them with a HUGE open mouth grin on his face, the kids looked at him, then carried on with their play and ran off. It was at this point that i watched my baby look longingly after them, smile fading, then looked away almost like he was DENIED and had to move on from the fact that they weren't going to play with him. I wanted to CRY!!! Talk about heartbreaking!! I think I can already see myself babying Deacon. As much as I don't want to. If he falls over from sitting, i rush to him and comfort him right away. If he cries, i pick him up immediately 100% of the time, smothering his face with kisses. Yikes. He is such a GOOD baby though...
Right now I should be cleaning.... or sleeping. I'm not sure which is more important. I've got like 4 loads of laundry that should be done. I made Quiche for dinner and put a tiny bit of Garlic in it. Now my ENTIRE house smells like i lit a garlic candle in every room. I sure love that.......not. I can not stop looking at Emersonmade.com. I'll take one of everything, please.

Breaking News

I have some saddening news. The delicious new baby breath smell that escapes my delicious new baby's mouth? Its just about gone :(. Now that he is eating more and more foods, the smell has ceased to exist much to my dismay. Mark this day as one of the saddest yet!

yes..maybe too dramatic.

Recently and 7 months

Can you believe that Deacon is now 7 months old? (well, he will be tomorrow the 29th) MAN does time fly! I still feel like a brand new mom to a newborn baby! I guess he isn't a newborn anymore. He sits up very well on his own, and can balance for a little bit on his hands and knees (if i place him that way), but doesn't show too much interest in crawling. Still no rolling haha but i'm over it. He still sleeps about 10-11 hours at night. . Bless that little sleepy baby :)
Deacon loves to be thrown in the air. He just giggles and smiles. Its adorable..

This is our pathetic pumpkin. I had two bigger ones (a mommy and a daddy pumpkin) but i ruined it. It has already rotted and been thrown in the dumpster :(.
Did I already post this picture of Dusty and Deacon? If not, I think its so cute and funny (deac's finger). If i have.. then its still cute right?

These were taken today of Deacon playing and eating...

Enlarge this picture to see his two wittle baby teefs!! ^
Like honestly. He likes to grab the spoon and try to feed himself and smear his food all around ha!

Such a happy baby. He is RARELY fussy. We sure love him so so much!!
