Lately

(Me and Deac getting ready for Emily's 80's party)

(notice the necklace..)

Tomorrow Little Man will be 8 whole weeks old! He already weighs a little over 13 pounds now and even though I'd like to deny it, has pretty much already outgrown his 0-3 month outfits. The most exciting news in Mommyhood for me lately is Deacon has started to SMILE at me. Not the regular Im-about-to-fall-asleep smiles, but ON PURPOSE smiles while i'm talking to him. It absolutely melts my heart.
I never did really post about my first Mothers Day. Dusty surprised me with a The Vintage Pearl necklace with "deacon" written across the heart. I LOVE it (and hinted for days how bad i wanted it hehe). And since when did the ward stop giving flowers to the Mommy's? I was so looking forward to it and they didn't do it this year haha.

Nap Time Thoughts

Right now, I'm laying in my big comfy bed, with my sleeping baby laid across my chest. I can't stop kissing his little head, and all his soft little baby hairs keep sticking to my lips. He smells like milk, and clean Dreft laundry soap. His breathing has a quiet little whistling to it and his chubby dimpled fingers are balled in a fist up by his mouth. I sure love him. More than I thought I would (and thats alot.)....
You know what I was thinking about? Hindsight. Hindsight is kind of a crazy thing. Most things in my life are BETTER in hindsight. Do you know what I mean? At church on Sunday we were talking about prayers being answered. And we decided we pretty much only can tell a prayer has been answered, when looking back in hindsight. That terrible moment you wondered 'Why would Heavenly Father let this happen?" In hindsight, you'll see it worked out for the best. Promise. Another example, Pregnancy. Something i complained often about, now I think of fondly. It was miraculous and too short. My baby being days old, everyone telling me "Enjoy it while it lasts" I kind of brush that to the side because it didn't SEEM to be passing fast. Yesterday I was at Target and saw several mothers with teeny red NEW newborns. I looked down at my plump 6 week old and realized how quick time really is flying. And now I'm one of Those moms, saying "They grow up so fast!". I assume all moms are those moms though.

Today i wished DEATH upon myself.

*Warning..may contain TMI for some!*
So today marks 6 weeks since my beautiful son was brought into this world. I went for my post partum visit today and figured it'd just be a quick check-up..get some birth control, and be on my way. WRONG. Turns out, one of teh stitches i had that should have dissolved, Hadn't. So the Nurse Practitioner had to *gulp* PULL the stitch out of my 6 week healed wound. With no numbing medicine. Now, I've given birth, and nothing. I mean NOTHING compares to the PAIN of this procedure. I didn't shed a single tear during childbirth but sobbed in horrific agony today! I almost bit my finger off several times and the nurse kept saying "Careful with that finger there!". When it was over i said "OH MY GOSH THANK U" and thought I was going to pass out. Now i feel like I've just had a baby all over again, except without any of the pain meds to help. Holy. Moly. is all I can say. I cried the whole way home, getting louder if I hit a speed bump or pot hole. Then i sent my husband a text message.. "I literally want to die right now." Man Alive!!
