The Baby Shower

The shower was really wonderful. We had it at my mother in laws new house, which was decorated so cute for the festivities. We had some of my favorite foods to eat, including a chicken salad that Mandi always makes. I've been craving it for MONTHS now and couldn't wait to dig in at the shower! :)

Baby boy got SO many WONDERFUL gifts!! I've been having so much fun putting everything together in his nursery :) I just laid everything all out and stared at it for a while, then washed the clothing and have them put away in the dresser now. I can't WAIT to use everything :) Thanks everyone who came or stopped by! I had alot of fun!!

In other news, at 34 weeks, sleeping is getting to be very difficult! Who knew? I'm QUITE the sleeper. Me and Dusty both are. We've both said many times at night before drifting off to sleep that our favorite time of day is RIGHT before you fall asleep. Sleeping is fun man. Lately... I don't get any sleep. I'm not sure what it is! But i lie awake All. Night. Long. With the occasional trip to the bathroom to pee where i feel as if my bladder were about to explode, and about a tablespoon of pee is all i come up with. Frustrating! And the weird part is I just don't feel tired at night. I'll wake up about every hour on the hour and stare at the clock thinking 'WHY AM I NOT SLEEPY!?" Anyone have any suggestions?? Also, I'm pretty sure i'm averaging out to look more like i'm 40 weeks right now instead of 34 haha. Its ok though. I'm going to tell my doctor i don't want to be aware of my weight gain anymore because the stress is a bit much anymore. I'd rather worry about more important things. One things for sure, i am so excited and READY to have this baby!!!!

Also, people have asked me a few times if i've had any CRAZY cravings. And i havn't really had any CRAZY cravings. I've definitely had cravings, but nothing i'd consider crazy. Until now. I honestly can NOT get enough DARK soda. Coke, Dr Pepper, Diet Coke, You name it.. I WANT IT...BAAAAAAAD

Don't underestimate my appetite.

I could just possibly kill a person for a bowl of RAISIN NUT BRAN right now.

Baby

Apparently, little baby boy isn't so little afterall. He is consistantly measuring about a month ahead in size. So he may very well be here a tad early according to the doctor. Yesterday we did a 4D ultrasound and it was neat. That darn cord was in front of his face about the ENTIRE time though. If it wasn't the cord, he had his entire foot smashed in his face. So we never really got any really good pictures out of it. But oh well, we got to see him stick out his tongue so THAT was cute :) Baby boy looks exactly like his Daddy to me which is totally cute. I can't wait for him to be here!!

Kicker

I've heard alot of times that babies in utero, feel calmed by their Dad's voice, and hold still listening. I've never had a specific moment where I thought that was true for us. And in fact, its possibly the exact opposite haha. Last night the baby was moving a little so I had Dusty put his hands on my belly. We waited, me holding my breath and BAM the baby head butted Dusty's hand so hard, Dusty jumped back scared and said "woah!". It was hilarious. Then laying in bed, Dusty put his face on my belly and was talking to the baby, and the baby repeatedly starting kicking him in the face the more he talked haha. Apparently, the baby thinks I'm boring, and Daddy is REALLY something to move for. Maybe he'll be calm for me when he's born and wild just for Daddy? That'll be ok with me! :)

Inspired

I absolutely L.O.V.E feeling inspired. Don't you? Sometimes i'm tired of the same ol same ol and need something NEW to INSPIRE me. You know what never lets me down in the inspiration department? This Regina Spektor video. I love everything about it. The song, The singer, her clothing, the decor, the color scheme, everything. Love it! :)

Have you ever seen...

..on the food network? Well BOY do I have something to go in the DESSERT category. I love dessert. But no dessert compares to THIS dessert. It is simply THE BEST DESSERT I EVER ATE.

Macaroni Grill's LEMON PASSION CAKE is heavenly. It's beyond heavenly, more like. No other dessert leaves me with an audible "MMMM!!" after every. single. bite. And an audible "OH NO" once its all gone. I will fight Dusty to the death for the last bite of this glorious cake. Its moist beyond BELIEF, and the lemony fresh creamy-ness of it is just simply to die for. If you like lemon flavored anything, you will love this. If you don't think you would like it, you will love this. It's honestly THAT GOOD. Now go get a slice, and don't be surprised when you find yourself literally licking the plate CLEAN!!!!
